Joshu'a Room Made Over

This is the before picture. After 5 yrs. his quilt had really taken a beating and we needed color and something that he and Samuel could both share and grow into.
Here is the after. I painted the walls white on top and denim blue on bottom. Believe it or not the white on top helped to keep the room from feeling too small while still adding color. Jonathan put up the shelves. This is my way of preparing Josh for sharing he can keep all of his "special things" up there and Samuel can keep things in the little toy box.
For the bedding I found a great deal on down alternative comforters and made duvet covers for them by sewing two twin size sheets together. I did one side blue and the other red. That way they are reversible. I made two sets so when we move bunk beds in here the boys will coordinate but not necessarily match. I would like to pick up another night stand from the unfinished furniture store and stain it to match the other furniture but that will have to wait for now.
Of course what boys room isn't complete without a star wars poster. I wanted to make sure that this was still there room with a little decorating help from mom. Josh picked out the color scheme. I went to six stores looking for red sheets that I could use for the bedding. I think I would of given up sooner but he is thrilled and that makes it worth it. Kjirsten keeps asking when I am going to paint her room. Fortuntely for her she gets to wait for her little brother to move out.
