Here Comes Summer

We started off the first official weekend of summer with a bang and have been having a ball ever since. I started the fun off with a trip out west to visit my family and welcome my baby brother home from his mission. It was a great trip and I loved just hanging out and being silly with my siblings. ( I had trouble resizing the pics - sorry they are so small). My trip was over way too fast but I was really glad I had the chance to go.

While I was gone my wonderful hubby entertained the kids with pizza for dinner and go kart races. The story is that even though Joshua started in the lead Kjirsten quickly caught up and passed him by the end of the race. She was talking about it for days.

School is almost out which mean that the kids have fewer days of homework and last week turned off very hot. While shopping, I picked up a slip- n- slide which they had a great afternoon of fun with. We have already been to the pool twice. Sam is a little fish. He is not afraid of the water at all. He kicks and jumps right in the pool. I think he has found his favorite summer activity.

More Remodeling

Since I am now also out if school for the summer. I decided that one of things that I would like to accomplish is getting the rest of the upstairs painted. This includes painting the trim in the hallway, repainting the kids bathroom with more general appeal, and painting Kjirsten's room. This week with the kids still in school. I completed the trim and started on the kid's bathroom. I love feeling like I am getting close to having everything the way I want it to be. My mom and I always joke that there is this 3yr itch we get for changing things and redecorating. I guess that is holding true for me. Here are just a couple of picts. - Remember this is a work in progress.
The bathroom still needs the vanity completely painted. We may change the floor.- I am really liking the new color.
The trim is done. - We plan to replace/paint the doors in the spring. It has really helped lighten up the space.
