Third Time is a Charm

We have returned from our third trip flying out west in four months. Pretty crazy I guess everything does come in three's. We had a pretty good feeling we would be back out when in July Jonathan's brother announced that he would be getting married in September. (Congratulations to Paul & Anna). This trip minus battling a wiggly one year old on an airplane was a lot of fun. We did some things in Utah we didn't get to do last time (the kids got sick towards the end of our previous trip). Friday we attended Paul & Anna's wedding reception. We spent a really fun Saturday at the lake picnicking and canoeing with Jonathan's sister and her family and Grandma and Grandpa. It was a blast. I don't think there was anyone that didn't have fun. Sunday we saw Temple Square which our little Virginians had not seen before. It was neat to show them where we were married and talk about the importance of Temples. We also spent more time with Stephanie and her kids. I think Kjirsten and Katrina will definitely miss each other. It was quick but fun and great to see everyone again. I think the King family is going to retire from traveling for awhile, but we welcome visitors.

We're Walking

Check me out Grandma & Grandpa. Samuel took his first steps right before his birthday and now he can get across the room. Of course a camera is always great incentive.

New Beginnings

Kjirsten first day- all smiles with a new haircut- check out the curls!

Joshua off the bus after his first day.

Well the leaves have been falling, it is starting to get dark earlier and kids are headed back to school. It must be fall. For me fall has always seemed like more of a start of things than New Year's. Probably because when you are a kid it is. You start school with new teachers, kids, and new expectations as well as new clothes. Whenever the weather starts to get that smell of fall in the air I have this uncontrollable urge to buy new jeans and eat candy corn. Anyway, the kids both started school, so here are a few photographic highlights. By far for me the more difficult to let go was Kjirsten. We have been buddies ever since she was born and Joshua started preschool a few months later. She asks me if I will miss her while she is at school and the answer is absolutely. There is an energy when she is home that is missing now that she is at school. Sometimes it is hard to let them grow-up.
