An Amazing Ten Years

Jonathan & Amanda 1998

Jonathan and I are celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary today. At times it is hard to believe that it has been 10 years already. At other times it definitely feels like our wedding was a decade ago. We are happy to say that we are just as much in love now as we were then if not more so. We are also excited and grateful to my mother to being willing to babysit for us, so close to Christmas, so that we can have a night away. We have fun plans to stay in a B&B in the museum district downtown and then discover all the cultural things we miss always having kids in tow. Here's to another happy ten !

The King Family 2008

Things we have experienced in the last ten years:
Graduate School- for Jonathan
The birth of three beautiful children
Lots and lots of diapers
Moving 6 times.
Finally, buying our first home, which we love.
Moving 2,000 miles away, and not as of yet moving back.
Flying to visit family- more times than I can count.
Job Losses
Job Promotions
Student Loans
Learning how to paint, garden, craft, and becoming very handy
Repeating the same church callings- EQ Pres. & Enrichment
Making new friends
Watching friends move away.
Learning how to Love!

Thanksgiving

We hope everyone had a fun Thanksgiving. We sure did. Having friends around to share a fun holiday with is the greatest--second only to having family close, of course. We had fun getting to know another young family in our ward and sharing our turkey with them. It paid off because they helped us out the next day after we had some car trouble.

Wanted to share a couple of pictures of Kjirsten's Thanksgiving program. Little kids' school programs are so cute. They sang three seasonal songs and God Bless America. She has been singing these songs around the house the past couple of weeks. Of course now we have moved on to Christmas. She announced in the car today that her favorite is Feliz Navidad, which is pretty funny considering we don't speak Spanish. Then she sang along with every word. She also likes Jingle Bells, so if you get her on the phone you will have to ask for a performance.

I threw this picture of Samuel in for fun. It is still Star Wars mania at our house frequently, and it has started to rub off on the youngest King kid. The other day when he got a hold of Joshua's lightsaber he made it shoot out and then proceeded to make his own version of laser noises. It was too cute. Boys will be boys!
